Jimmy Bates brings extensive first-hand experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects throughout the nation to Dawson & Associates.

Jimmy’s 38 years of service in the Corps of Engineers includes four years as Deputy Director for Civil Works in Washington, D.C. In that position, he oversaw development and management of the Corps’ annual $4 billion civil works program for water and related land resources.

Prior to that, Jimmy served as Chief Policy and Planning Division, Civil Works, HQ and as the Chief Planning Division, Ohio River, (Cincinnati, OH). In that position, he was responsible for Corps of Engineer policies covering water resource and management planning as well as navigation modernization across the Ohio River basin.
