Joe has more than thirty years experience with the U.S. Department of Interior which has given him extensive knowledge of the Department’s policies and procedures.

Joe’s career at the Interior Department includes service as Acting Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks. He had numerous other high level positions in the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department to include Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Budget and Administration and Co-Chair of the multi- agency Coral Reef Task Force.

In addition to policy knowledge Joe gained a keen understanding of Interiors budget and administrative processes. He was responsible for a number of major reorganizations and realignments. He served as the major negotiator in completing the complex transfer of the Phoenix Indian School as part of a major land exchange for holdings in the Big Cypress National Preserve and two National Wildlife refuges in South Florida and other sensitive Secretarial issues.
